Albert J. De Prospo, 91, of Millersville, PA, passed away on February 23, 2012 at the Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy Center. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Joseph and Edith De Prospo. Albert was the husband to the late Melba Ann (Reive-De Lucca) De Prospo.
Albert worked as a machinist at Curtis-Wright Aeronautical, Inc., of Paterson, New Jersey. A veteran, he served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, including the Battle of the Bulge. After moving to Millersville, he enjoyed the companionship of his friends at the Millersville Senior Center and, later, at Oak Leaf Manor. He loved sports and was a lifetime New York Yankees fan.
Albert is survived by 2 stepsons: Kenneth De Lucca of Millersville, PA, husband of Diana, and John De Lucca of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, husband of Doreen; and two brothers: Edward De Prospo of New Jersey, husband of the late June De Prospo, and family, and Carl W. De Prospo of Florida, husband of Rita, and family. Albert is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 2, 2012 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603 with Rev. Mark E. Weiss as Celebrant. Interment will be at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery.
