Obituary

Alan Lee Zimmerman, 62, died unexpectedly at his residence in Mount Joy, PA on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Betty Zimmerman of Conestoga, PA and the late Charles B. Zimmerman Jr. He was the husband of Linda M. Zimmerman. He served in the US Army in Germany from 1971 to1972. During his working career, he worked for various companies in construction and truck driving. He was a life member of Green Hill Sportsmen's Assn., AMVETS and the Riverside Camping Assn. Alan's hobbies including fishing, hunting, boating, playing pool, building furniture, steel fabrication and especially spending time with his wife. In addition to his wife and mother, Alan is survived by his brother, Robert married to Barbara Zimmerman of Lancaster; his niece, Heather Zimmerman of Lancaster and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Andrew Zimmerman and his beloved dogs Friends and family are invited to share Al's celebration of life on Saturday, April 30th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Riverside Camping Association, 730 East Strawberry St., Lancaster, PA 17602. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions in Alan's name can be made to the Lebanon Veterans Administration.
