Dear Lois and children,
I just came home from the shore a few hours ago and was catching up on newspapers. I was so sorry to read about Jim’s passing. I remember him fondly as a fellow counselor and also a good neighbor on State Street. Please know your family is on my thoughts and prayers. Kathy Kuzmiak

In 1958 Coach Breitegan said something I will always remember” You do not have to look far just walking down these halls(Edward Hand) you will find someone stronger than you, smarter than you, better looking than you.” This was not a put down it was his way of saying the “bar” is always rising if you do not improve you will lose ground in any categorie. Coach Breitegan helped all of us to improve by being a role model for us to emulate. I will always remember him fondly. For you young Jim the bar is high but no doubt if you are like your Dad you will pass the torch to improve those around you.

I was one of Mr. Breitegan’s boy scouts in Troop 80. He was one of those influential people in the lives of kids in the 60’s. One of the greatest generation. I fear we may not see the likes of men like him again. My condolences to the family.
