James B. Hougendobler, Sr., 74, of Lancaster died unexpectedly with his brother, William H. Hougendobler, Jr., at home on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Born in Columbia, PA, Jim was the son of the late William H., Sr. and Ella R. (Rintz) Hougendobler. He was the husband of Geraldine (Kauffman) Hougendobler with whom he would have celebrated 52 years of marriage in April.
Until his retirement, Jim worked as a machine operator for both Penn Malleable and Lancaster Malleable. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed wood working as a hobby.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by 2 children: James B. Hougendobler, Jr. and Krissy L. Hougendobler, both of Lancaster; and a grandson, Austin M. Hougendobler of Lancaster. In addition to his parents and brother, Jim is also preceded in death by 2 other siblings: Timothy L. Hougendobler and Darlene M. Hougendobler.
A combined Funeral Service will be held for Jim and Bill at 11AM on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602, with the Rev. Chris Rankin officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment for Jim will follow at Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster.
