William R. “Bill” Ruffe, 74

William R. “Bill” Ruffe, 74, of Cobblestone Lane, Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the husband of Marie P. Martin Ruffe and they celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on May 6th. He was the son of the late LeRoy and Elizabeth Maxwell Ruffe.
Bill had numerous careers, including a position with Wall Street, working in finance for Merrill Lynch, E.F. Hutton and Bear Stearns.
He enjoyed fishing, drawing, playing guitar, listening to country music, going to the gym and weight lifting, crossword puzzles, yardwork, watching Jeopardy, and had a love of his former animals, Muffy and Tinker. He was an avid fan of the New York Mets and Rangers , but most of all he loved his family, was an awesome Dad, and loving husband. He proudly served his country with the United States Army, spending his time in Korea.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lori Ruffe, Lancaster, PA, a sister Patricia Halloran, and a brother, Robert, husband of Mary Ruffe. He was preceded in death by brothers, LeRoy and John, and sisters, Eileen Patterson and Jeanne Sweeney.
Private Graveside Services will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Water Street Rescue Mission, 210 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA 17603 or the Humane League of Lancaster, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
