William Dimitris, 50
William Dimitris, 50, of 136 E. Lemon St., Lancaster, died unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, August 14th, 2009.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Elizabeth Evans, companion of Robert Brown, of Lancaster, and the late Richard Dimitris, Sr.
William had worked for the City of Lancaster in the Streets Dept., operating a street cleaner. Prior to this he had installed electric dog fences. He had also been a volunteer at City Line Child Care & Education CTR on E. Lemon St., helping to maintain the property.
He was a member of Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church in Conestoga.
William enjoyed riding his motorcycle, building model airplanes, and his dog, Bubba.
He was a graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School.
He is survived, in addition to his mother, by his daughter: Alexis Dimitris of Peach Bottom; his sister Doreen married to Scott Myers of Schafferstown; and his two brothers, Richard Dimitris and Richard C. Graybill, both of Lancaster. He is also survived by his foster parents, Grace and Paul Harnish of Conestoga; his foster sisters: Sharon married to Hoyt Doyle of Conestoga, Cindy married to Mark Evans of Lancaster, and Mary Moyer of Willow Street; by his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday from 1-2PM at Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church, 3716 Main St., Conestoga, PA 17516, with the memorial service to follow at 2PM, the Rev Mark Inman officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in William’s memory to Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church. Arrangements by the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Lancaster 393-9661.
