Thomas D. Caldwell, 59
February 11, 2023
Thomas D. “Tom” Caldwell, 59, of Oxford, was discovered February 11, 2023, after an intensive search and rescue effort executed by his family, friends, and community over a 3-week period. Tom was born and raised in Lancaster, where he would raise his own children, Keith, and Keri. He was the son of Mildred (Caldwell) Thomas, and the late Thomas C. Caldwell, and husband of Ashley Hitchcock, until her unfortunate passing last year.
Tom was a man of simple pleasures. He could frequently be found tinkering around the garage fixing cars and spending time with his family. He had an admiration for muscle cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, semis and drag racing. He was known for dirt track racing at Susquehanna Speedway in his youth. Traveling throughout the South became a pastime Tom enjoyed with his mother in recent years.
He is survived by his mother Mildred; children, Keith Caldwell, husband of Kaity of Millersville, Keri Caldwell, wife of Jess of Seaford, DE, and T. J. Caldwell; a granddaughter, Shelbi; and his sister, Melanie, wife of Pete Adams of Quarryville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his father, a sister, Kathy Hammond, and nephew, Tyler Jones.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service honoring Tom on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA. A visitation will be held from 10 AM – 12 PM, with the service beginning at 12 PM. Interment to follow at Little Britain Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone who dedicated their time and efforts to returning Tom to them during this difficult period.
