To the family and friends of Theresa,
I was deeply saddened when I heard of your great loss.  Theresa was a wonderful student of Spanish.  I remember when she told me she wanted to become a Spanish teacher.   She was radiant!  Her passion for her future goal was so evident.   The positive difference Theresa made in others’ lives (and notably in the lives of her dear students) will live on forever.

Theresa,
I find it devastating to know you are gone. I am so thankful I was able to meet you when I first came to Sdol. You were the bright light during my struggle to adapt to middle school. Years later, you were my trusted friend, cheerleader and support when I was newly divorced.  I cannot begin to share how much you meant to me then, and how much you mean to me now. Your pictures and smile were just a glimpse of your beautiful soul. I will miss you dearly, my friend. Rest in peace, Christina Woomer, Sdol Elementary teacher

Theresa was always a joy to be around and always smiling.  Many of my memories with her involve shifts at CVS; working with her always made the time go faster and the shift much more enjoyable.  Theresa was also so encouraging and excited for me when I started dated Will, serving as our matron of honor when we married.  I will miss her laughter, her encouragement, and her hugs.
Praying for her family and her loved ones.

January 09, 2021

The last few days so many memories flooded my mind as I re-lived this week the trials and tribulations of the young teen years but then the joys, accomplishments and loves of the young ladies ( and Shane, always ) in the friend circle of Theresa at MCMS, and MCHS…this sad loss all too soon of this bright and accomplished young woman reminds us all to love a little harder, hug a little tighter those in the circle of our lives. Your light will shine in the hearts of all you love you, especially the young students that you dedicated your life in encouraging their lights to shine. Rest with the Angels, dear girl until we all meet again.

I met Theresa a number of years ago when we shared a room at Reynolds.  It may have been in her first few years of teaching.  Since then, I remember her as a positive and upbeat person.  She was dedicated to all her students.  More recently, we worked together in our union’s advocacy committee, trying to create safe learning and working environments for all. I will miss her enthusiasm and her commitment to creating a better Lancaster.

I still see Theresa when she was in middle school with the sparkle in her eye, huge smile, and a love for music. Carrying on with her buds ( you know who you are Jess, Sarah, Amber, Shane etc etc..)! I  Remember her in “Wondermakers”, and band , and the Wiz.  I feel fortunate to have kept in touch with her on face book, even while Im in China,  Watching her become as amazing of a teacher, as she was a student.  Chatting with her this fall I feel lucky to have had kept in touch and so, so, sad as I know how much more sparkle she had to share with us all. To Cheryl, and her family and friends – she was loved around the world -big hugs.

As a fellow teacher, I had the awesome opportunity to work with her, talk with her, share our joys and laments.  She is and was a very authentic and beautiful human being.  We had the opportunity to bask in her glow for a little while but I know that everyone of us was touched and impacted by her presence.  She loved people and she definitely loved her students.  The departure of a friend is never the right time but we have much to be grateful for.  We can pass on that love that she shared with others.  A favorite quote comes to mind about Ms. Doster.  “When you were born, you cried and the world laughed.  You lived in such a way that when you left us, you laughed and the world cried.”  I ask God to receive your beautiful soul.  Peace. My friend in England sent me this funny prank she played on her step-daughter yesterday.  Immediately, I thought, “I need to send this to Theresa! She’d love it,” but my friend is gone.  It’s hard to adjust.  Theresa “got” my sense of humor.  I could say anything or send her anything, and she understood me.  She never judged me.  She was honest and genuine and I knew it from the moment I met her at Reynolds 12 years ago.  I can still remember the first thing I said to her:  “You have amazing skin!  How do you do your make-up so nice?”  From there, we hit it off.  She was there for me whenever I was feeling out of place at Reynolds.  She let me be a third wheel with her and Kris and do fun stuff like the Orioles game or our trip to Rehobeth.  My daughter absolutely loved our taco runs from Theresa’s mom’s pool in Lititz to the authentic Mexican restuarant on the corner at 501.  Plus, Theresa would give my daughter extra Mary Kay products.  Imagine being 15 years old and able to just go through the Mary Kay grab bag?  We loved you, Theresa!  I will keep you in my prayers.  Remember us from your eternal bungalow in heaven until we meet again one day!

Theresa and I played softball, sang in chorus, and attended classes together throughout middle school and high school. I loved laughing with her she always brought a smile to anyone’s face! I still remember her softball glove that she used for many years! What a cheerful and beautiful character she was! I am so very very saddened by this news. I send my deepest condolences to her family 💝

Though I have only known Theresa the past few years, we have grown close as friends and colleagues. I will always cherish the times we spent together and I will miss seeing her contagious smile and feeling her vibrant energy! She always helped at home track meets when I was coaching; I’d always see her at extracurricular events rooting our students on. She was a integral part of our school and a lovely friend to kick back with. I will always cherish the moments we had together — trivia nights, union meetings,  Hand Happy Hour and more.
To her family, I am thinking of you during this time and ever after, as a loss is felt forever.  She will be truly missed.

Theresa,
You were such a bright light which was dimmed far too soon. Our hearts ache knowing you will not be with us to share another Christmas or another summer at camp.. both of which you so enjoyed! As Kris’s parents, we will always be there for him as he struggles to make some sort of sense of the magnitude of your loss. He loved you beyond words… you know that as do many others. Fly High Sweet Angel, Rest in Heavenly Peace ❤️❤️

My heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved Theresa.  I had the privilege of being Theresa’s Kindergarten teacher at Stiegel Elementary.  Her bright light and compassionate heart were evident at 5 years of age.  The world was a brighter place because of her.  What a tragic loss for all.
