Thelma H. Magee, 95

Thelma H. Magee, known to family and friends as Temmy, 95, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. A former long-time resident of Valleybrook Estates, she resided at Brethren Village Retirement Community. Born and raised in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mamie Hummer Howard. Temmy graduated from Lititz High School in 1940, and later became the wife of the late S. Jefferson Magee.
Following high school, Temmy worked in the office of Bedford Shoe Co. in Lititz. Later she worked as a payroll clerk for Armstrong Cork Co. and Herr Glass Co., from where she retired. She was a whiz on the comptometer.
A member of First Presbyterian Church, Temmy enjoyed dancing, playing cards and bingo, and watching Jeopardy and Lawrence Welk reruns. While in her 70’s and into her 80’s, she walked 5 miles a day and went to the gym 3 days a week. She and her siblings enjoyed playing poker every Sunday afternoon when they were younger.
Temmy is survived by her nieces, Davene McFalls (Chas) and Lila Miller, nephews Ed Floyd and Preston Howard (Lexi), as well as a sister-in-law, Gladys Howard Adams. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Chet, Fred and Larry Howard, and sisters Mary Ellen Howard, Irene Floyd and Violet Forrest.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
