Dear Ed and family,

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of "Aunt" Sue. Our family and yours had many happy times when we were young and although the miles and years separated me from you and Sue, it was amazing that Sue kept me in her thoughts, including sending me a wonderful letter when I graduated from nursing school a few years ago. I am sending much love to you and your family at this difficult time.
Kathy Rettig.

My dear Ed,Michelle,Eddie and Mike, Your Sue was my oldest, dearest friend,A constant in my life that I will never be able to replace. Ed and Sue and Ed and Trudy were a good foursome, we both talk about the good times in California with dear Christie, and at the shore in Del,as well as many other sweet memories. As I write this , Sue’s Mass is starting. I shall pray for her too,but Sue was such a good person that she will need little help from me to travel to her just reward. Sue was my dear friend for over fifty years. It was on one of their first dates that Ed brought Sue to meet Gary Rettig and myself. The years passed and I moved from Lancaster in 1980 but we always stayed in touch, expressing our love for each other always. I will miss her whenever I think about our young lives and the sharing of companionship. We had a card club in those days when as young mothers, this was our only night out. We talked more then we played cards. Sue was always so kind and gentle. My heart goes out to Ed and the family. Sue leaves a void that can never be filled. Love and prayers to all of you.

Dear Uncle Ed and family:
My heartfelt sympathy to you all.  I just got back from moving Dad to Arizona and he is in grief about Sue and not being able to be near you.  You have been his best friend most of your lives.  I am sorry.  I hope that you all feel the support and love that you need to get through these very tough days.
Love and care,
Patty Rettig

Ed,

I was saddened to learn of the death of your Mom.  My thoughts and prayers will be with you, your Dad and the rest of your family during this difficult time.  Cherish her memory and the legacy of a beautiful family that she left behind.  Much of her continues to live on in each of you.
