Stephen P. Goba, 93

Stephen P. Goba, 93, formerly of 624 E. Walnut St., Lancaster, died Friday evening at St. Anne’s Home in Columbia.

He was the husband of the late Sylvia D. Staselavage Goba, who died in 1996. Born in Minersville, he was the son of the late Michael and Frances Trotsky Goba.

Stephen had worked as the supervisor of repair crews for Bell of Pennsylvania, retiring in 1978 after 43 years of service.

He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Stephen enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an avid bowler, bowling in many leagues such as the Bell Telephone and Merchants Leagues. He had also been a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers.

He is survived by his children, Stephen A.  married to Frances Goba of Lombard, IL, Wiliam M. Goba of Sarasota, FL, and Katherine M.  married to Daniel L. Wetzel of Sedona, AZ,and by his 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, Stanley and Michael Goba and by a sister, Frances Spolski.

Friends will be received on Monday from 1-2PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA with Mass to follow at 230PM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA.
