Dear Beth and other nieces and nephews,
My thoughts and prayers are with you today as you lay your dear Aunt Stella to rest. She is in heaven rejoicing and praising her Lord and perhaps inserting a bit of humor now and then. I have many special memories of living with her, Audrey, and Gerry in Puerto Rico. We traveled to the island of Vieques together many times delivering books. On the way home we always had to stop for some Hagen Das ice cream! Stella was an excellent cook and I learned from her to add just a dash of cinnamon to many soups and casseroles for added flavor.
Her love for the Lord and people was always an inspiration to me and I am so grateful for our time together in Puerto Rico.  Also, my visits with her after she was a resident at Landis Homes were special.

Oh my Auntie Stella.
I love you so much and my world is darker without you in it. You were my superhero.
Love, your Heidi (Carolyn’s daughter)

Dear Beth:
You are the one I met, so I’m sue you’ll pass on these thoughts.  I had the privilege of working close to dear ‘Tella’ as she was known here in Puerto Rico.  My ministry office was in the house next door to their home.  Stella was often the chofer for the ladies, and I always enjoyed the wonderful lunches at their home.  I especially enjoyed the week Stella was the cook.  She loved humor and we had some good laughing times.  I thank Stella for taking time to grow a starfruit tree.  There was an abundant harvest, and many baskets of fruit were sold at the local supermarket so money could be used to buy tracts.  Heaven will reveal the works of her hands.  May you be comforted.
Esther Frey
