Shirley Ann M. Hudock, 82

Shirley Ann M. Hudock, who recently celebrated her 82nd birthday on December 29th, a very devoted person who loved her Catholic faith and also lived her Catholic faith. She was a very active and faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. As a 35 year volunteer at Conestoga View, assisting with the Celebration of Mass, transporting residents to the chapel, and her volunteer work at Evergreen Estates, she is full being rewarded at this time for the good works she has done.
She is survived by her loving husband Francis M. Hudock, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage this past May 26th and is the last of her immediate family. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Smalley Palko. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Michael , John , James , Dorothy, and Margaret Palko.
Friends will be received on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster from 6 to 8PM, with the Recitation of The Holy Rosary at 7:30PM. There will be a viewing again on Friday, January 26 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 from 11:30 to 12Noon, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12 Noon. Interment will be private in St. Patrick’s Calvary Cemetery in Pottsville. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Shirley’s memory to the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545-0302, or St. Anthony Catholic Church at the above address.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Shirley. I was so glad that we got to talk on the phone before Christmas. We were friends a long time and had many good times together. God Bless you Francis at this sad time.

I was glad to see that the obituary emphasized Shirley’s Catholic faith and practice. I was epecially glad to see the words remembering her wonderful wrok at Evergreen and Conestoga. She and her team were such a huge help to me during my years as Pastor at St. Anthony of Padua. Fr. Daniel Mitzel

I just heard of the passing of your loving wife, mother and my cousin Shirley.
Although I have not been in contact with her for many, many years I have fond memories of our early childhood.
