Sheldon T. Bertz “JR”, 67

March 27, 2015

Junior Bertz passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lancaster on May 21, 1947 to the late Sheldon T. Bertz Sr. and Catherine L. (Frey) Bertz.

He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia, along with his sister Anna Marie Welch, wife of Carey; and Mary Stimson, wife of Ed. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Bertz, husband of Jean.

Surviving in addition to his wife and sisters are mother-in-law Bonnie Beyer, sisters-in-law Karen Boots, wife of Howard; and Laura Kauffman, wife of Abiel. He also had several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He began his career with the family rigging business of
SS Bertz & Sons, then went on to drive truck for many years before retiring from Signature Custom Cabinetry in 2009. JR loved working on his train display, doing ceramics, going boating and camping. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially Dave and Curt. Once you met JR you never forgot him. He will forever be in our hearts and will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Grace Community Church of Willow Street, 212 Peach Bottom Rd, Willow Street, PA 17584. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm with the Memorial Service at 4:00 pm.

Dear Cindy,
I was so sorry to hear about Junior. I haven’t seen Junior since we went to school together. He was so kind and caring at that young age . May you find peace in your memories.
