Sara Elizabeth “Betty” Maul, 92

Sara Elizabeth “Betty” Maul, 92, of Mansfield , OH died January 18, 2014 in York, PA. She was born November 5th, 1921 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Grace (Lautsbaugh) and John Scott.
Betty graduated as Valedictorian at Lexington Senior High School and received her Registered Nurse credential from St. Luke’s in Cleveland, Ohio. She served as an RN in the United States Navy during World War II. She worked into her 80s as a nurse. Her husband, John C. Maul , preceded her in death in 1957. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mansfield, OH. She and her family spent many happy summers at a cabin built by her husband and brother-in-law at Pleasant Hill Lake.
She is survived by three sons, Hank Maul (Kathleen) of York, PA, James Maul (Peggy) of Sandusky, OH and Jay Maul (Renee) of Columbus, OH. She also is survived by nine grandchildren Kelly Maul Compton, Corey, Alex and Hillary Maul, Alissa Maul Gibson (Justin), Peter Hassa (Jennifer), Andi Preest and Aimee Rulli (Dick) as well as nine great-grandchildren, Kayley and Cameron Compton, Isis, Tristin, and Graham Gibson, Logan and Connor Hassa, Averie Rulli and Reagan Rulli.
A memorial service will be held in Mansfield, OH. In lieu of flowers, her York family requests that you consider a donation to the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation or the York County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
