Sandra “Sandy” K. Traylor, 77

June 28, 2019

Sandra “Sandy” Kay Traylor, 77, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, surrounded by her children on Friday, June 28, 2019.

Sandy was born in Lancaster, she was the only daughter of the late John and Catherine Lewis.

She is survived by her children: Kevin Traylor, husband of Jennifer MacNeill, of East Petersburg and Karen Gueits, wife of Kelvin, of Leola. She treasured her two granddaughters, Zoe Traylor and Aijalon Gueits. Sandy will also be greatly missed by her sweetheart, Ralph Kurtz.

Sandy volunteered countless hours for many charities in her life. She organized annual fundraisers featuring Michael Hoover’s “Memories of Elvis” that raised over $12,000 for the Lancaster Heart Foundation. In addition, she held fundraisers to help the lives of children with special needs.

She loved going to the beach, taking cruises, and was an Elvis Presley superfan, visiting Elvis’ Graceland home more than 20 times.

She was a remarkable person who always thought of helping others and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Memorial Services for Sandy will be held at 11AM, Monday, July 8, 2019, at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11AM. Interment will be private.

Sandy and I were life-long friends, and distant cousins.  She was named after my sister.  My heart is broken, but there are so many wonderful, funny memories.  We shared our deepest secrets knowing everything was safe with each other.  I love and miss you, my forever bestie.

I worked with Sandy years ago at Rebman’s Store, I considered her my “work mom” and friend. She was a very funny and loving person, and there was never a doubt her children were her greatest joy. She is living in heaven as she so richly deserves, and has finally met Elvis! Sincerest condolences to her family and friends, and much love to Sandy.

A remarkable lady that I had the privilege of working with- shared many laughs at lunch time and a dear friend. Sadly we lost touch. I will cherish her giving heart. Love of her children she spoke of often and her love of Elvis- a true fan!  Prayers for peace and comfort for her beautiful family. Rest In Peace Sandy! Love you-Bonnie
