Condolences to the Family

April 12, 2018

For Sam’s Family –
We want to express our sympathy. We worked with Sam and Jean at Temple Beth El, and we got to know them better when we joined the Chaverah group. It was inspiring to watch an older couple take such good care of each other – they were very sweet together and you could tell how much they were in love. Both were very knowledgeable about the Jewish religion and added clever insights to our Chaverah discussions. We miss them both. We hope the family will be comforted by the fact that the 2 spoke with much pride and love about their children and grandchildren. They both were passionate volunteers – the Lancaster Jewish community was enriched by their participation in so many worthy causes. – Carolyn and Steve Kleinman

I was Sam’s sister in law.  He was a very nice man, and always very nice to me.  I am very sorry to hear he is gone, and also sorry I was not able to make it to his funeral.  I can just imagine what Marilyn and Sharon are going through right now, and I would like to send my condolences to both of them and their families.

Sincerely, Margret Feldstein

We were very sorry to hear about Sam’s passing.  Sam and Jean were our next door neighbors on Corvair Road in Lancaster.  Sam was Charlie’s walking partner, walking three miles a day while discussing politics, religion and life!  Then they’d go for coffee and a snack.  They did this for years and became known as the “two walking guys” on Spring Valley Road.  We’re sorry we could not attend his memorial service due to a prior commitment.  Our sincere condolences to his family.  Sam was a wonderful man and will be missed. Dear Sharon and Marilyn and families,
My condolences on the loss of your father Sam. I am a long time member of Temple Beth El and knew your Mom and Dad for many years . My late husband Howie got to know them when he worked in York , and had occasion to use PIP Printing. Your Dad was feisty, spoke his mind, had a good heart and a great sense of humor. I visited him several times at his apt Lancashire Hall , the last time shortly before he moved to Massachusetts. May his memory be a blessing .
