Ryan E. Martin, 41

Ryan E. Martin, 41, of Lititz, passed away unexpectedly from an unknown heart condition and went to be with his Lord on January 2, 2019.
He was the loving husband of Katelyn “Katie” Capp Martin with whom he shared 13 years of marriage this past May. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Glen E. and Susan Sheaffer Martin of Lititz.
Ryan was a graduate of Warwick High School and earned a BS in both Bible Studies and Education from Lancaster Bible College. He earned his Masters of Education from Cabrini College.
He had been a health and physical education teacher at Lancaster County Christian School, teaching in the middle school and high school levels for the past 9 years. In addition to teaching, he also loved coaching and had been the JV and Varsity basketball coach at Lancaster Christian. He had also been working as a realtor for Berkshire Hathaway Realty for the past year.
A fan of all kinds of sports, especially Philadelphia teams, he was a huge Eagles fan, and achieved his lifelong dream to see the Eagles win a Super Bowl. He enjoyed playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends.
Ryan’s faith was a great part of his life, attending Calvary Church of Lancaster. He had also served in the past as a youth pastor at Ebenezer EC Church in Brownstown.
In addition to his wife, Katie, and his parents Glen and Susan, Ryan is survived by his children: Greyson and Lila; his brother Scott married to Erin Martin and his sister, Natalie married to Joel Martin, both of Lititz, and his maternal grandmother Catherine Freeman of Lititz, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received by Ryan’s family on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 4-6PM at Calvary Church,1051 Landis Valley Rd., Lancaster, PA, with the Funeral Service to follow at 6PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu or flowers, Ryan’s family kindly asks that contributions be made in his memory to the American Heart Assn., 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.

My heartfelt condolences to Ryan’s family and friends. It’s especially sad to lose one still so young, and God understands how difficult this time is for you. May you find comfort in one another, and may you find hope in the promise at Revelation 21:3,4 that God will wipe away every tear and death will be no more.

The Capps are like my second family, and I can’t remember a time when Ryan wasn’t a part of them. He was at every family gathering and every event, and you always knew when Ryan was there. He was always laughing or joking and making people smile. I love how he made people just relax and not be so uptight about things. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his family and the Capps, my dear friends.

Ryan was an exceptional human being; he was always so filled with life, and exuded happiness. He always brought so much joy when I worked with him at ENVISIONS. My deepest condolences to his family at this difficult time.

We were so shocked and saddened to read of Ryan’s death in the Sunday paper. Tears just flowed as i recalled fond memories of Ryan spending time at our house with Donovan. Ryan also read the love chapter at Donovan and Andrea’s reception. Hard to believe his life was cut short much too soon.My heart goes out to you, the family as you grieve the loss of someone you loved! May you feel God’s presence during this most difficult time. When my brother died the following quote gave me so much hope and comfort: Those who live in the Lord never see each other for the last time! Our prayers will be with you!
