Ruth Irene Rohrer, 76
Ruth Irene Rohrer, 76, of Lancaster was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Born July 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Minnie Farmer. She was the loving wife of the late James S. Rohrer, Jr. for 41 years
She was employed as a pharmacy technician for over thirty years at Rea and Derick Pharmacy in Bridgeport. Irene was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church for over thirty years. She was an active member of the Strasburg Senior Citizens Club, with whom she enjoyed traveling and playing bingo, along with many other activities. She also enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her family and friends.
Irene is survived by her four children: Barbara Rohrer, and Gail Stormfeltz both of Lancaster, Ronna wife of Fred Swinehart of New Providence, and Eric Rohrer of Bowmansville. She was the grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of two.
She was the third oldest of eight children and was preceded in death by five siblings: Harold Farmer, Vera Dougherty, Paul Farmer, Michael Farmer, and Donald Farmer. She is survived by two siblings: Elizabeth Pearl Johnson and Merle Farmer of New Providence.
Funeral Service will take place at Highland Presbyterian Church, 1801 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, on Friday, April 17, 2009, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ted Mingle officiating. Interment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, April 16, 2009, from 7-9 PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc. 414 East King Street, Lancaster and again on Friday at the church from 10-11 AM. Please omit flowers.
