Rosa Lee Beard, 83

Rosa Lee Beard, 83, formerly of Millersville and Lancaster, died Monday, August 9, 2010 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Born in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Will Lee and Ethel Harding Pittman.

She was the wife of the late William D. Beard who died in 2005. Rosa Lee worked and later volunteered for Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital, later called Community Hospital.

She was a child of the Great Depression, a woman that supported her country during World War II, a wife that loved her husband and a mother that sacrificed all for her children. She will be missed.

Surviving are her children, John, husband of Linda Wenzel of Millersville, Suzanne Wenzel McCarty of Lancaster and Scott Wenzel of Conestoga; grandchildren, Josh, Michael and Melissa Wenzel all of Lancaster, Alexandra McCarty of Lancaster and Meredith McCarty of Newark, DE; brothers James and Joseph Pittman of Chattanooga, TN and Willie Paul Pittman of Houston, TX; and sister Lucille Huntley of Chattanooga, TN. Her son Robert Lee Wenzel, daughter Patricia Lynn Wenzel and sisters Lilly Mae Pursley and Oma Fowler preceded Rosa Lee in death.

Private Services with burial in Creswell Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.  Through the years, Aunt Rosa Lee was always thoughtful anytime I got to talk to her or the few times that she and Uncle Bill visited. 
She will be greatly missed.
