Ronald E. Coldren, Sr., 74

Ronald E. Coldren, Sr., 74, died at his Lititz home surrounded by his family on Friday, May 6, 2011. He was married to June M. Eckman Coldren for 51 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy Mae Reber Coldren.

A 1954 graduate of McCaskey High School, he served in the US Army during the Korean War with Co B 307th Airborne Engineer Battalion at Fort Bragg, NC. Ronald worked as a millwright in roto operations for Armstrong World Industries.

He was a member of the Hubley Social Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and rooting for the Phillies and Eagles. Ronald and his family participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life as the Nancy’s Friends Team from 2000 to 2003 in honor of his daughter Nancy.

Surviving in addition to his wife are 4 children, Lynetta S., wife of James A. Flack, Lancaster, Ronald E. Coldren, Jr., Lititz, Brenda L. wife of Dennis Foultz, Cincinnati, OH, and Barry M., husband of Pattie Coldren, Columbia; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Dorothy Weaver, Millersville, Mary Lou, wife of William Kirchner, New Providence and Thelma Consylman, East Petersburg. His daughter Nancy J. Fisher and brothers John, William and Robert Coldren preceded Ronald in death.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, with his grandson Aaron R. Fisher officiating,  Friends will be received from 10-11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. I’m so sorry to hear of Hank’s passing.  I was just thinking of him as I have been going thru family pictures and found one of him in his tux for his sr prom.  I know my brother will miss him so much.  My condolences to June and his family.  I am so happy I got to see him at Smoke’s anniversary party.
