August 10, 2019

Robert G. “Bob” Newswanger, 69, of Mount Joy, and formerly of Washington Boro, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019.

He was the husband of Brenda (Binkley) Newswanger, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harold and Hazel (Millhouse) Newswanger.

This is Lani Sweitzer. I worked with Bob at Amerimax. He was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever known. I used to help with his sub sales. He was so proud when he became a grandpa. He was over the moon. I feel so sad for all his family. What a huge loss. Just hope it helps to know he was so proud of his boys and loved his family dearly. There are so many of us at work that remember him with fondness. He was one of the good ones. God bless you all. Sorry for your loss.

Bob was a lifelong friend and one of the “Duke Street boys”. We shared so much together growing up from baseball, football, hunting, hanging out in neighborhood basements racing miniture cars, shop classes at PM and so much more. I am glad the two of you shared so many wonderful years together. Prior commitments will prevent my attendence at the service but loving thoughts will be in my heart and mind for you.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I know how heartbreaking it is, and I hope you will find some comfort in all the memories you have and cherish the time you had with Bob. He and my dad were definitely the good ones and we are better people because of them.
