Richard W. Kilts, 84
Richard W. Kilts, 84, of Lancaster, died on June 28, 2007 at the Lebanon V.A. Medical Center. Born in Los Angeles CA he was the son of the late Howard and Hulda (Larson) Kilts. He was the husband of Doris M. (Shotzberger) Kilts, and they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on August 1st.
Mr. Kilts was employed for 20 years at the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, retiring from his position as the head of the Maintenance Dept. in 1983, from where he had also formally graduated from the Carpenter Shop. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post 945 in Wormleysburg PA. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was in WWII for 3 years. He was based at Attu in the Aleutian Islands, serving in the Navy Seabees. Richard attended Calvary Church. His hobbies included golfing, woodworking, RVing, and travel.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Beverly Maxwell, of Elizabethtown, PA.; Richard L. Kilts married to Suzanne, of Drums, PA; Samuel Kilts married to Cynthia, of Elizabethtown, PA; and grandchildren: Bethena Haser, Deborah Long, Jeanelle VanBlargen, Jessica Kilts, Patrick Kilts, and Melissa Maxwell; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Kilts.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 11:30 at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA. Please omit flowers. Contributions can be made to the Lebanon V.A.
