Obituaries

Richard J. Evans, Sr.

Dear Mrs. Evans and family,

I was so sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Evans. The memories will always be a part of you, and time will help the pain ease. It doesn’t seem so long ago that I was at your house on Woods Ave. on a regular basis, and playing ping pong out in the garage!
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Sincerely,

Lynne Heidig Segro

I just wanted to say how sorry we were to hear the news. I still remember when I stopped during my graduate class at Millersville and met Barney for the first time. He was all over me and was included in the "yard tour". I saw the biggest and best tomato garden in Lancaster county!!!

I remember weeding in one of Julie’s gardens at PP&L and asking her-what is the difference between the weeds and the small vegetable plants? She was a great teacher and showed me the difference. I never weeded another garden with her again. The "garden genes" are a nice memory that Julie refers to often. Please know that these memories will last forever!!!

Dear Mrs. Evans and family,

Please accept my deepest sympathy regarding the lost of your beloved husband and father. The memories of the past will be rewarding and with the support of the family and friends, the future will be just as rewarding.

Fondest Regards,

Jim Sauer

Dearest Evans Family,

Bernie and I want to send our sincere sympathy for the loss of your husband and father. If the good humor we have experienced while in the company of Kathy, Julie or Rick is any indication of Richard senior’s humor you all must have had a very good time! By the way, we are sorry we missed Kathy and Mark’s wedding. If we had known, we would have definitely attended. Oh well, we saved a very expensive gift!!

Warmest regards and love to you all,

Bernie & Susie

We were very, very sorry to hear about Mr. Evans. He was an extremely nice man that had a wonderful sense of humor. I loved his laugh….He will be greatly missed.

Sincerely,

John and Barbara Ericson

Dear Peggy and family,

I was saddened to hear of Dick’s passing. My sister Nita informed me this week. I know we didn’t get together enough as extended family; distance and life’s duties always taking priority, but I have fond memories of those large gatherings at special times and always enjoyed conversations with you and Dick.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Carol (Connor) Kunkel

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Evans.  I have known him since my high school days when Kathy and I worked at Ormonds at Park City and then became college roomates. I used to stop by the house often and had the opportunity to get to know the entire Evans family, of which I have fond memories.
Mr. Evans always had a smile on his face and always made me laugh. I will miss him as I am sure all of you will.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Evans.  I have known him and the entire Evans family since I was in high school. I worked with Kathy in high school at the old Ormonds store in Park City and then we became college roomates.  I throughly enjoyed my visits to Woods Avenue and seeing everyone. Mr. Evans always had a smile on his face and always made me laugh.  I will miss him as I am sure you will too.  My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.

Sincerely,
Mary Lou DiFelice (Williams)

My sympathies to your family. I am a childhood friend of Kathy. I lost my beloved Mother, my best friend almost 4 years ago. Fond memories stay with you forever!

I would like to express my deepest sympathy on the loss of a wonderful human being. Dick was a good friend and role model for me as a young man. Dick, his father Alfred, Horace Hill, and me were avid hunters. Even though I am not in the family anymore, I feel like I loss a great friend. Thank God for memories.
