Raymond J. Berlot, 79

Raymond J. Berlot, 79, of Lancaster, passed away, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Pestonick) Berlot. Raymond was the husband of Nancy (Proeller) Berlot with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage this past May 30th.

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Maintenance for 35 years. He also worked part time at the Queen St. State Liquor Store as a Clerk for 24 years. Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife Nancy are 2 children; Raymond G. Berlot husband of Cindy of Lancaster, and Joanne Servansky wife of Paul of Lancaster. 6 grandchildren; Kathryn, Daniel, and James Servansky, and Melissa, Jennifer, and Bradley Berlot. A brother, Alvin Berlot husband of Alma of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 440 St. Joseph St. Lancaster 17603 at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Thomas Smith as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received before the service at the Church from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Restoration Fund at St. Joseph Catholic Church 440 St. Joseph St. Lancaster 17603.

I was sad to hear of Rays passing. We worked together at the State Store on Queen Street in the early 1980s. Ray had a good sense of humor. My condolences to Nancy and family.
