Polina M. Hasircoglu
Polina M. Hasircoglu of Lancaster died on Monday November 16, 2009 at Hamilton Arms. Polina was born on October 18, 1921 in Voronezh Russia and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Daria Medvedeva. She was the wife of the late William J. Hasircoglu who died December 26, 1999. Polina was formerly employed by Shick Inc., and Hubley Toy Company.
Polina was fluent in five languages. She had a passion for helping people and with the gift of language, Polina especially helped European immigrants make an easier transition moving to the USA, she also helped many people from Viet Nam. Polina was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, and was an active volunteer.
She enjoyed baking, working crossword puzzles, and sewing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Alexander W. Hasircoglu of Columbia , and Christopher W. Hasircoglu, husband of Elizabeth A. of Millersville, Five grandchildren Michael, Angela, Selena, Julia and Aaron, and two nieces Valentina Sofillas, and Katina Keares.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, Nov. 20th 10:30am at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 64 Hershey Avenue, Lancaster Pa 17603 with the Rev. Alexander Goussetis officiating. Friends may attend the viewing at Annunciation Church on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The Trisagion service will be held at 7:00pm. A second viewing will be held Friday morning at the church from 9:30am to 10:30am. Please omit flowers, memorial contributions in Polina’s memory may be sent to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. So sorry to read about your mom’s passing. She was a very kind lady and will be missed by many. She also helped so many people which was a blessing. I haven’t seen or talked to her for some time and will miss her company. Take care and follow her example in life.
