Peggy Wolfe Rosol, 76

August 13, 2015

Peggy Wolfe Rosol died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy, PA, due to complications from Parkinson’s disease and Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Born in East Donegal Township, Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth W. and Kathryn Reynolds Wolfe. She would have celebrated her 77th birthday on August 22. Peggy is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frank J. Rosol, Jr., and sister, Patricia “Pat” Wolfe Rhoads, of Lancaster. Also, her sisters-in-law, Maryanne Haas of Marietta and Josie Bentley (Michael) of Columbia, niece Christy Stetter (Matt), and their children Riley and Luke of Columbia, as well as a nephew, Scott Bentley of Crockett, CA.

After graduating from Donegal High School, Class of 1956, Peggy started her job career as a Lab Technician in the Paint Department of the R&D Center at Armstrong World Industries in Lancaster. Taking advantage of Armstrong’s excellent Education Program, she began her studies at Franklin & Marshall College. By attending day, night and summer classes, she completed her required studies in 1974, being awarded her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. She was very proud of this achievement. It enabled her to move forward in subsequent promotions at Armstrong, retiring at the position of Manager of Product Compliance on September 1, 1997, with 41 years of service.

After retiring from Armstrong, Peggy was invited by her good friend, Jane Deibler (deceased), to become an Independent Mary Kay Consultant. She accepted and set out on her new career with great enthusiasm. Her new endeavor enabled her to meet with fellow independent business people in the group known as the “Lancaster Business Team”. They shared new ideas and possible business “leads”. She enjoyed them even more as friends. Her goal as a Mary Kay Consultant was to make her customers feel better about themselves. They too became her friends. She was a member of ASTM and a past member of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.

Peggy was an active charter member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church. We wish to thank this congregation for their love and support. Pastor Clifton Eshbach and Reverend Tom Rundell were Angels of Mercy and we thank them for their visitations. There was a special group of friends who, as a “Bible Study Group”, went out of their way to keep her involved throughout her illness. She loved them dearly. Thank you to Mim, Carla, Joanne, Kathy, Rhonda and Terryannne.

Along with her husband, Peggy was an active supporter of the Lancaster Cancer “Relay for Life”, the United Way, especially the “Day of Caring”, until her health became an obstacle. She especially enjoyed the Fulton Theater productions and held full season subscriptions for many years. When possible, they enjoyed attending F&M basketball games. She was an ardent “Phillies” fan.

The family also wishes to thank the staff at Lancaster General Hospital, the entire staff at the Lancaster Cancer Center, doctors Peter DeGreene and Joan Kane for their support and care as she battled lymphoma. In addition, we would like to thank the efforts of doctors Michael Manolas of General Internal Medicine and Timothy Martin of Neurological Associates, along with Dr. Huang of Penn State-Hershey. God bless you.

Funeral Services will take place 11 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, with Rev. Clifton D. Eshbach and Rev. Thomas W. Rundell officiating. At Peggy’s request there will not be a viewing, however, friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 AM on Tuesday at the church. Interment in Maytown Union Cemetery will be private. Donations in Peggy’s memory can be made to Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 3131 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603 or Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or to the charity of your choice.

Frank, Peggy worked with Rich in the same flooring section when he came to Armstrong.  Peggy was instrumental in helping Rich to get oriented.  May you find the peace which only God can give knowing that Peggy is now at peace.  With deepest sympathy, Rich and Vi Shoemaker

Frank, Although we are now full time FL residents I still puruse the Lancaster newspaper usually on a daily basis.  We were so sorry to learn of Peggy’s passing.  We will always remember you both as our Mill Creek neighbors and good friends.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.  Bob & Pat MacMinn
