Condolences to the Family

April 11, 2020

Tony was my cousin whom I always thought so highly of and always will.  Years ago we would go camping together at Montgomery County Park and had great fun.  For some reason it sticks in my head how he liked to hand pump the water from the well, but those jugs were heavy to carry back. I’m guessing Tony was age 11 or so that first summer and I was age 9.  We would walk through the woods to the camp store, and go fishing at the dam and then go swimming.  Big bands played on Sunday nights.  There were also times Tony would visit us in Oreland.  I recall us climbing up onto the roof of Oreland Elementary and doing other fun things too.  Fair to say we lost touch and I now learn Tony had a remarkable career and family, and is known to most as Paul.  It was truly very sad to hear of his passing, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to all in his family.  Very Sincerely, Bob & Cathy Newhard, Florida

Saddened to hear about Tony, Erika.  Yes we knew him as Tony growing up at MHS.  I was roommates with him for short while at HJC.  In recent times, Tony made it to a couple of our classmate gatherings on a Friday evening at Dukes in Hershey.  I must have seen him at some class reunions, but I can’t say which ones.  All of us miss him already, but we all have our fond memories of growing up together at MHS.  All the best to you and your family.

Our hearts are with you, Erika, Tim and Jesse. Each time we visited with you or you visited with us, Paul’s kindness and keen curiosity, rippling with questions to discuss and ponder, grounded the day and evening. He remains with us, clear and crisp. Our lives are most definitely all fuller for having known him, laughed with him, journeyed with him in this life venture. Abrazos to each of you. Siempre, Diana and Franz (Erika’s cousin and husband)

Our deepest sympathies to Erika, Jesse and Tim, as well as the rest of our family. Uncle Tony was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all of us. We will miss hearing his robust laugh, his sense of humor and his compassion. He had a wonderful tenderness and concern for all of his family. May God’s peace and comfort be with us all. We love you Uncle Tony.
