Patrick J. “Joe” Kauffman, 87
Patrick J. “Joe” Kauffman, 87, of Mountville, passed away on August 20, 2009 at Hospice of Lancaster County Mt. Joy. He was born in Lancaster to the late Benjamin and Eva (Frey) Kauffman.
Joe is survived by his wife Margaret (Quino) Kauffman of Mountville. They were married on November 19, 1941 and celebrated sixty-seven years together.
Joe served his country in WWII with the Army Air Corps as a Radar Mechanic Night Fighter, Navigator, and Instructor.
He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
Joe was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School class of 1939.
Joe retired as a supervisor with Armstrong World Industries after forty-three years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved his fruit trees.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Patrick J. Kauffman, husband of Vicenta, of Ephrata, daughter, Margaret Hart of Marietta, daughter, Eva Benner, wife of Paul, of New Castle, DE, daughter, Anne Helm, of Wrightsville, son Jeffrey Kauffman, husband of Joyce, of Manheim, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Benjamin, William, Ralph, Robert, and James Kauffman, and sisters Anne Rogan, and Eva Kauffman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from St. Leo the Great Catholic Church 2427 Marietta Ave. Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 11am with Rev. S. T. Antony Raja as Celebrant. There will be a visitation at the church from 10:30-11. Final Farewell and Commendation will take place from St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
