Neil H. Matheson, 94

Neil H. Matheson, 94, of Maytown, PA, passed away on April 9, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Clementon, NJ, he was the son of the late Neil & Mary (Martin) Matheson. Neil was the loving husband of 27 years to Dorothy “Dottie” Rose (Fox) Matheson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Adele Martha Koguc.
A veteran, he served in the US Air Force during WWII. He truly missed flying after being honorably discharged from the military. Neil retired from the position of management switchgear from GE. He enjoyed playing many different sports, which included soccer and basketball. He also liked playing dominoes with his family. He missed driving his cars when his health began to fail. Neil & Dottie loved to travel together. Neil liked to go boating and fishing, but most of all he cherished his family.
In addition to his wife, Dottie, Neil is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Sarno; a son, Neil H. Matheson, husband of Kathleen; step-children: James Liounis, husband of Peggy, Lynn Tenney, Donna Kestel, Steven Liounis, husband of Kathie, and David Liounis, companion of Telesa; grandchildren: Steven Sarno, husband of Cindy, Dr. Susan Blake Wachter, wife of Ron, James & Geoffrey Matheson, companion of Kate, and Charles Matheson, husband of Kaylynn; great-grandchildren: Amber, Dylan & Steven Jr, Justin, Jacob, Drake Wygant and Mia Ann Matheson; 13 step-grandchildren & 16 step-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Nancy Lerf, wife of Robert.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Faith Bible Fellowship Church, 151 Donerville Road, Lancaster, PA 17603.
