Nancy Berg

April 18, 2017

Nancy Berg passed away peacefully at her home in Millersville on Tuesday evening, April 18th, 2017, after a life well and fully lived. Mrs. Berg, originally from Wilkes-Barre, relocated to Lancaster County on her retirement to be near family.
During the 1950s, she was a radio personality and along with her husband, the late Hal Berg, co-hosted the Song Shop evening show on WILK radio. In early television, the couple also co-hosted Hal ‘n Nancy’s Carousel on WILK-TV. She was a pioneer in the television industry and entertained many children who knew her and loved her as Miss Nancy, hostess of the Land of Hatchy Milatchy on WNEP-TV in Wilkes-Barre, and the Land of Ziggy Zoggo on WBKB-TV in Chicago.
After retiring from on-air positions, Mrs. Berg and her husband were the proprietors of Hal Berg Advertising Agency in Wilkes-Barre for many years. Nancy Berg continued running the ad agency after her husband died in 1976 until her retirement in 1997.
She is survived by her daughters Robyn (Ben) Lazarus, of Lancaster and Jody (Robert) Leidigh, of Pittsburgh, grandchildren Matthew (Julia) Lazarus, of Philadelphia, and Alex Lazarus, of West Chester. She is also survived by Kate, Marty, Barbara, and the entire Quinn family.
A Life Celebration Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Our deepesy sympathy on the loss of Mrs. Berg.  My sister and I were big fans of Hatchy Milatchy growing up in Luzerne County.  She was the ultimate professional and role model.  I moved to Lancaster  over 25 years ago and was surprised that she moved here as well.  Many fond memories of watching her on WBRE TV.    Wishing her family peace.  Mary Anne Mikulka

May fond memories of your loved one bring you comfort during this hard time in your life. Look back on all the good memories you were able to have and smile at the fact that you were able to share these before she passed away. My hearts and prayers go out to you and your family. God has promised us that we will soon be reunited with our loved ones. “There is going to be a resurrection,” the Bible confirms at Acts 24:15. “Do not be amazed at this,” Jesus assures us, “for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” (John 5:28, 29)
