Dear Arlene-
I left a message on an answering machine, but not sure if it was your number. (It was on in Mom’s address book). Sending love and prayers to you for loss of Mel. You and Mel were always so much fun and always loved seeing you both – many wonderful memories. I am sorry we lost touch after Mom got sick but you were always in my thoughts. I mentioned it to Sam and he remembers you (the lady from Weis) and said to say hello to you.
Again, sending love and hugs,
Chris Smith Ulrich (Marcene & Norm Smith’s daughter)

So sorry for your loss. I was one of the nurses in Personal Care with Mel & he was one of my absolute favorite residents ever. We used to always take walks outside and he always made sure to tell me how much he LOVED it. He had a picture of my son (Carter) in his room that he talked about often. & his nickname to me was “Tilly.” We had a snowball fight inside the one snow storm too – the lady in the dining room made him a snowball & he threw it right at me, laughing the whole time. I’ll always remember his love for strawberry ice cream & always insisting on eating it with a knife!!! He was a wonderful man with an even better laugh & personality, he sure will be missed. My condolences to the whole family & Arlene as well. RIP Melvin! <3
