Maureen A. Loffredo, 77

March 26, 2018

Maureen A. Loffredo, 77, of Lancaster, passed away, Monday, March 26, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Robert M. and Patricia T. (Duggan) Parker. Maureen was the wife of Richard “Dick” Loffredo for 57 years.

A graduate of St. Michael Commercial High School, she took great pride in being a tremendous homemaker for her family. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, her life revolved around her family. She loved to do the ironing, wash the windows and entertain. Maureen faithfully responded to the planning of family functions with “what can I bring”?

She enjoyed playing Miami Rummy, Bingo and trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Hollywood Casinos. Maureen would volunteer for anything. A night owl, she would make breakfast for Dick whenever he returned home from his job at Yellow Freight, regardless of the time.

A parishioner of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Maureen had a very strong faith.

In addition to Dick, Maureen is survived by their 4 children: Christine, wife of John Sears, Lancaster, Bob Loffredo, husband of Candy, Mount Joy, Donna, wife of Leon Hoover, Lititz and Sharon, wife of Sam Santiago, Mount Joy; 7 grandchildren: Lindsay, wife of Brian Hicks, Brianna Sears, fiancée of Andrew Kramer, Heather Loffredo, fiancée of Austin Rice, Amanda Loffredo, Alexa Hoover and Megan and Austin Santiago; sister-in-law Fran Ryan and niece Robin Kershaw.

A viewing will take place 9:30 to 11 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Daniel F. X. Powell as Celebrant at 11 AM, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.

I was saddened to read in the paper that your wife and mother had passed away. I remember when we met her at Cardiac rehab at the health campus when my mother Jane Albright and Mo were in the same class they had so much fun going through the paces together. We would cheer them on from the sidelines when we should have been right  in there doing the same excersises.  How ironic it is that Mo’s  funeral  is exactly one year from the day my mother passed away, April 3.  May she Rest In Peace and May all your memories of her be happy ones.  With my deepest sympathy.

Just found out today about cousin Maureen’s passing. I’m so sad to hear about this. Just a couple of months ago she sent her regards in a card when my grandpa passed away so thoughtful. My condolences go out to the whole family. It was a blessing, and honor to have met her in 2015. I felt so welcomed by Maureen, Dick and the rest of the family when I visited their homes. She will always be remembered in a great and happy way. May she R.I.P (Rest In Paradise) as I say it because she is with the Lord Jesus Christ now. There will come a day when we meet again with those we lost in this life. Much love!
