Mary Vasile, 90
July 13, 2018
Mary Vasile, 90, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018. She was the wife of the late Michael E. Vasile, who passed away in 1995. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Carmela Pagano Anastasio. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
As a child, Mary lived in Italy before coming back to the United States. She got married and raised two of her children in Philadelphia. Mary moved to Lancaster in 1960 where she raised her third child. She was a homemaker who always put her family and others before herself. She was the most loving and caring mother and grandmother children could ever ask for. She dedicated her life to them.
Mary once wrote, “My greatest happiness and also Mike’s was family happiness. All the money in the world could not have made us any happier than a family get together laughing and joking. That is what life is all about. Without family and togetherness you haven’t lived.”
Mary was a talented cook whose specialty was Italian food. She worked part time at AAA Vacuum & Sewing Center, the family business. Always upbeat with a constantly happy demeanor, she was known for her extreme kindness.
Mary is survived by her children: Deborah married to George Eager of Lititz, Michael married to Natasha Vasile of Hershey, and Bob married to Deb Vasile of Lancaster, and by her 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
