Mary Schmalhofer Jakob, 87
Mary Schmalhofer Jakob, 87, of Columbia, died on August 7, 2007 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Pocking, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Deganhart Schmalhofer. She was the wife of the late Ludwig Jakob who passed away on August 5, 1979.
Mrs. Jakob was employed for 30 years as a Housekeeper for Mrs. Dwight Armstrong. She was a member of the Legion of Mary of St. Joseph Catholic Church and also a member of the church.
Surviving are her brothers: Bruno Schmalhofer of Lancaster, Johonn Schmalhofer of Rotthamünster, Germany, Andreas Schmalhofer of Pocking, Germany and a sister Irma Knon of Pocking, Germany, Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Alois Schmalhofer and Josef Schmalhofer; and three sisters, Sins Spretcer, Rosa Waarta, and Theresea Danlinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 13,2007 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, at 10:00AM. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to the St. Joseph Restoration Fund, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA. 17603.
