Marian L. Russell, 77
May 16, 2023
Marian L. Russell, 77, of Pequea, went into the arms of angels on May 16, 2023, surrounded by loved ones, at her home. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Myer M. and Lizzy M. Groff. She shared over 50 years of love, marriage, and memories with Larry L. Russell, until his passing in May 2020.
Marian dedicated many years to blessing others in need. She spent many years volunteering to make and serve meals for those less fortunate, and at Water Street Rescue Mission. She found great joy being outdoors gardening, boating, sailing the Chesapeake, and observing birds and local wildlife. Many will remember Marian for her dedicated years at Diversified Printing/Quad Graphics, where she worked for over 30 years.
She will be sorely missed by her daughter, Charlene Buffenmyer, wife of John of Columbia; a son-in-law, Curt Plaisted, husband of Jackie Beebe of Lancaster; bonus son & daughter, Jason Lyon and Janie Barton, both of Pequea; granddaughter, Claudia Zegley, wife of Samuel of Pequea; great grandson, Coen; siblings, Earl K. Groff, husband of Lois of Lititz, Kenny Groff, and Naomi Hoffman of Lancaster; brothers-in-law, Jene Willwerth and Ronald Russell, husband of Phyllis; a sister-in-law, Marcia Sensenig; her lifelong friend, Dee Alexander of Coatesville, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and her beloved Boxer, Crystal Blue. She was preceded in passing by a daughter, Lisa Jane; brother-in-law, Melvin Sensenig; a sister, Mariam Willwerth, and a granddaughter, Chayla I. Plaisted.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, or the Lancaster Conservancy.

Marian was a wonderful person. We had 25 years at Diversified together. I will never forget the fun we had thier. I will never forget the one Hershey Park company picnic and it started raining and everyone was running for cover except for DPC nuts we ran to the roller coaster. We got off and on a lot because there was no line, I said to Marian isn’t this great she said no. I looked and asked why are you riding then? She said in order to be with her family she would do anything. How many people would ride a ride that scared the daylights out of them so they could spend time with thier family ? Not many. God Bless Marian and her family
