Lewis H. Eshbach, 85

Lewis H. Eshbach, 85, of Millersville died Friday at Lancaster Regional Medical Center.  He was a mechanic for Eshbach’s Garage, a family owned business and he worked in the physical plant and as a bus driver for Millersville State College.  He was a Charter Member of VFW Post 7294 where he was Commander in 1957, 1958, 1985 and 1991.  He was a Life Member of NRA and American Legion Post 34.  He served in the Army during WWII.

He was married to Betty Bonham Eshbach for 64 years.

Born in Millersville he was the son of the late Christian and Orella Reinhart Eshbach.

Surviving besides his wife is one son; Christian B. married to Cindy Eshbach of Holtwood; four grandchildren; Christine married to Daniel Comp of Millersville; Carolyn Eshbach of Millersville; Curt Eshbach of Holtwood; Cale Eshbach of Holtwood; one great grandchild; Kylee Comp of Millersville.  He was the last of his immediate family.  He was preceded in death by one son; Lewis John Eshbach; one sister; Ruth Kendig and one brother, John B. Eshbach.

Funeral service will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N. George St., Millersville on Wednesday at 11:00am.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10:00am until the time of service.  Interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Lewis’s memory to the American Lung Association of PA, 630 Janet Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601 or to the VFW Post 7294, c/o Ben Roth, 219 Walnut Hill Road, Millersville, PA 17551.
