Larry Leon Barnard, 70

Larry Leon Barnard, 70, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Kansas City, KS, he was the son of the late Rollie and Rosemary (Sharp) Barnard. Larry was the loving husband of 50 years to Barbara (Hilf) Barnard.

Larry retired after 38 years of service as a train master. He was a Mason from the lodge in Kansas, and a Shriner 32nd Degree. He did charity work for the Shrine Hospital. Larry was an avid golfer, enjoyed NASCAR and antique cars.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Barbara, is a daughter, Kristen Elliott. He loved his granddaughters dearly, Amanda and Allison Elliott, all of Lancaster, PA.

Family and friends will be received from 2-3 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543, with a Masonic Service to follow at 3 PM. Flowers are welcomed.

I am so sorry to hear that Larry passed away.  When we were growing up, Larry always took the time to talk with us younger cousins and made us feel special.  I know you all will miss him terribly.

I am so sorry for your loss!  I was so sad to see that Larry passed away.  I enjoyed my time getting to know him and looked forward to seeing his smiling face and his comedic personality.  I will be praying for your family to get you through this time!  Love you!
