Larry Lee Russell, 74

Larry Lee Russell, 74, of Pequea, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at home surrounded by his family. Born in New Holland he was the son of the late Paul M. and Irene (Wanner) Russell. He was the loving husband of Marian L. (Groff) Russell, with whom he shared 55 wonderful years of marriage on February 26, 2020.
Larry was a devout member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in New Holland. He was a true outdoorsman. Boating was a favorite pastime of theirs. He also enjoyed spending his free time hunting, landscaping, enjoying wildlife, his cats and dogs, and much more. Music was also a passion for Larry.
Larry was proud of his 39 dedicated years of service at Dart Container, Leola, where he worked as a Facilities Supervisor.
In addition to his wife Marian L. (Groff) Russell, Larry is survived by his daughter Charlene L. Russell, of Columbia, his son-in-law M. Curt Plaisted (Jackie Beebe), of Lancaster, his brother Ronald (Phyllis), his sister Marcia Sensenig, brother-in-law, Jene Willwerth, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenny and Lois Groff, sister-in-law Naomi Hoffman, cousin Paul Hollinger (Sylvia), nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog companion Crystal Blue.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Chayla Irene Plaisted. He is also predeceased by, brother-in-law Melvin Sensing, sister-in-law Mim Wilwerth, brother-in-law John Hoffman, nephew David Hoffman, and nieces Lisa Beiler and Tammy Armer.
Per Larry’s wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in the memory of Larry to: Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Dr, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Marian and family sorry for your loss Larry was my foreman in the he boiler room I had a lot of respect for him learn a lot from him having him as a foreman l enjoyed doing my job and working with him at times he was more of a friend then my foreman was sorry when he retired but was happy for him I surely was blessed to work for him and the times we had will be missing him again my 💓 aches for you and your family.
