Kristina Katie Murphy
November 27, 2018
Kristina Katie Murphy, who liked to be called Katie, of Willow Street, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2018, at UPMC Pinnacle Lancaster. For the past two years, Katie showed extraordinary courage and fortitude in fighting an autoimmune disease, to which she succumbed following complications. Born in Siberia in 1993, Katie was raised in a Russian orphanage and adopted at the age of 3. She lived her life in PA with her adoptive mother, Elizabeth Hazel Murphy, and her adopted brother, Ruslan Murphy.
Despite suffering many medical and psychological difficulties, Katie found much joy in her life. She loved her family and friends, adventure, animals, sports and country music. Most of all, she loved and adored her daughter, Tala, now age 3. Her courage, spirit, warmth, determination and sense of humor will be sorely missed.
In addition to her loving mother, Hazel, her loving brother, Ruslan, and her adored daughter, Tala, Katie is survived by many fond relatives in the UK, and many friends here in PA.
Katie’s final resting place will be at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery and services were held privately and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Katie’s memory may be offered to the Vasculitis Foundation at www.vasculitisfoundation.org.
