Kermit S. Oberholtzer, 85
Kermit S. Oberholtzer, 85, of 933 Irwin Ave., Lancaster, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at Essa Flory Hospice Center.
Born in Maytown, he was the son of the late John D. and Anna E. Shelley Oberholtzer. He was the husband of Verna Murry Oberholtzer and they were married for 26 years. His first wife Mary Jane Houck Oberholtzer died in 1978.
He was employed for 23 years at Sperry New Holland, retiring in 1985. After retirement, he packed groceries at Weis Markets for 11 years. He enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving besides his wife is a son, Dennis E., husband of Carol Oberholtzer of Conestoga; stepson, Barry L., husband of Saadia Wenrich of Virginia; stepdaughter, Bonnie E., wife of Terry Gill of Strasburg; seven grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; two brothers, John E., husband of Joyce Oberholtzer, Elizabethtown; Wilmer, husband of Nancy Oberholtzer, Lancaster; and a sister, Anna Naomi, wife of Marlin Rhoads, Mountville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis E. Krow.
Funeral services will be held at New life Assembly of God, 1991 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, PA on Wednesday with Rev. Larry Huston, officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia, PA. A viewing will be held on Wednesday at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM.
