Kathryn E. Groff, 92

Kathryn E. Groff, 92, of Lancaster, and formerly of Witmer, PA, went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Thursday evening, May 10, 2012.

She was the wife of the late Jay M. Groff, who passed away in 1992. Born in Bird-In-Hand, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Maria Sweigart Englert.

Kathryn had been a homemaker, and had retired from working at DentalEZ in Lancaster. Prior to this, she had worked at the Hamilton Watch Company.

She loved to cook for her friends and family, enjoyed traveling to the mountains, and loved to dance. She enjoyed country music, especially George Strait.

Kathryn is survived by her sons: Robert L. husband of Judy Groff of Manheim, Jay M. Groff Jr. and Walter M. Groff both of Lancaster; her daughters: Lois E. Doll, Fay A. wife of Mark Morgan and Joan M. wife of Paul Pearson, all of Lancaster, Kay E. Groff of Leola, and Shari wife of Michael Ortega of Lancaster; her 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Groff.

Friends will be received on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 6-8PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA. Friends may call again on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 10-11AM, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM, the Rev. Glenn Hoover officiating. Interment in Riverview Burial Park.
