Karen D. Long, 62
April 26, 2019
Karen D. Long, 62, of Lancaster entered the kingdom of heaven to walk alongside her Heavenly Father on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sunbury, PA she was the daughter of Robert and Leona (Wynn) Shaffer. She was the loving wife of Raymond C. Long Sr. with whom she shared over 33 years of marriage.
She was a graduate of Line Mountain High School and later attended Elizabethtown College. Along with her husband Ray, they owned and operated Rayco Process Services since 1985.
Karen’s faith was very important to her and she was very involved at the Connection Christian Church in Lancaster where she played the piano, served on the worship team and volunteered in various ways. She enjoyed playing the piano, hosting parties, but most of all her joy in life was spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Raymond C. Long Jr., husband of Hope of Millersville; two daughters, Karen T. Wilson, wife of Brian of Pequea and Natasha Long, of Lancaster. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Hunter, Brooke, Cole, Taylor; sister, Melanie Peters, wife of Scott of Elizabethville, PA and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at 1PM on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Connection Christian Church, 551 Abbeyville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17603. Interment will follow in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 11AM-1PM at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Karen’s memory may be made to the church at the above address.

Karen was always an inspirational person to be around She always had a positive disposition and I have never heard a bad word come from her about anyone. Always one to take charge of the family reunions with set up and clean ups She was such a friendly and loving person. I remember when she would cut my sisters and my hair when we were very young way back into 1969 Karen even though we didn’t see each other often you will be sincerely missed Condolences to Bruzzy and family prayers and thoughts to all of you
