Jude Oniskey, 60

April 10, 2022

Jude Oniskey passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at his home in Ephrata, PA. He left this world the same way he lived within it; with his faith, positive attitude, appreciation and love for his family and friends that surrounded him. He was a true patriarch, a caring soul who could always make you feel like a part of his family. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of Mary (McCrossen) and the late Richard Oniskey. He was the beloved husband to Maureen (Bryan) Oniskey for over 39 years.

Jude was an active member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He was involved in the OMPH Parish Council, Knights of Columbus, and a member of Toast Masters International. He was employed as a Sales Executive for Comcast, and throughout his career he developed many life-long friendships.

Jude was a natural leader involved in his children’s active lives since they were infants. He was consistently volunteering to coach sports teams, head up groups like the Cub Scouts, and lead booster clubs. Jude was active in the community and a father to everyone. He always saw the best in others and encouraged them to pursue their dreams. Jude was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time at the beach, fishing, as well as biking and hiking. Everyone who Jude met was welcomed into his heart and home, where they were nourished by his passion for cooking, his kind heart, and his generosity.

Jude is survived by his children: Ryan P. Oniskey husband of Veronica of Warminster, Colleen M. Czarnecki wife of Stan of Denver, Gregory M. Oniskey husband of Lauren of Lititz and Jonathan R. Oniskey of Lititz; his 8 grandchildren: Colton, Brynn, Madilyn, Anna, Brayden, Peyton, Connor Jude, and Colin; and his siblings: Joseph Oniskey, Nancy Oniskey, MaryEllen Hopkin, Margaret McArdle, Nicholas Oniskey, Rick Oniskey, and his many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 330 Church Avenue, Ephrata, PA 17522. Family and friends will be received from 6PM-8PM on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.

Condolences to the Family

I only knew Jude as a man I greatly admired for his devotion to the ladies in his life. He would attend early Mass with 4 generations of his ladies. Helping his mother in law to holding his granddaughter. Chatted walking out of daily Mass often. Condolences to all of his loved ones.

My best memories of high school are of time spent with the Oniskeys. Mr. Oniskey always welcomed me in to his home with open arms. He first introduced me to fried green tomatoes and to this day, I think of him whenever I eat one. The years fly by but some things stay the same. I’ll always love your family.

Jude became a great friend when we worked together at D&E Comm. Took him to Temple games and one time he had everyone around us singing Happy Birthday to me. Taught me to say “I love you pal ” And I always will !   Gary Moore

I will always remember Jude’s big laugh, big smile and big heart. He was the heart and soul of OMPH scouts for years. Love and prayers to Maureen and family at this sad time.

Sincere condolences to the Oniskey family.  Jude as such a positive force in all that he did.  We met him not long after moving from Philly to East Cocalico.  We knew him in the community, through OMPH, he coached my son, Andrew, in lacrosse plus him and I were involved with Toastmasters.  He will be missed by all but never forgotten.

It is with a very heavy heart that we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Grandfather. He meant so much to so many. Truly one of the best people to ever enter our lives. We considered him a true blessing from God. He charmed us with his personality and wit, he lead us by his fine examples of trust, faith, generosity,  and commitment. He made sure we always had a smile on our face when we were with him. He will be forever in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.
God Bless you all!

Dear Maureen and Family, please take my deepest condolences for your loss.
I was blessed that our paths crossed and I had a chance to share time together with such great person as Jude was. I will never forget his famous saying: You did a great job, take the rest of the day off!
My dear friend, you did a great job in your life and now is a time that you take a rest in the arms of our loving God.
You will never be forgotten!

I am very shocked and saddened to hear of Jude’s passing. He was an awesome classmate back at Wood. He is certainly now at peace as one of heaven’s newest angels. My family will be praying for the Onisky family. Rest In Peace my friend 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Dear Maureen and Family: Be assured of my prayers and thoughts for you at this sorrowful time. Jude was a great man and friend and he was a “cheerleader” for me and many others with his kind, spiritual and thoughtful, loving words. I will always remember our “discussions” about Philly Sport Teams vs. New York Sports Teams. He was a die-hard Philly fan, me a New York Fan. But after it all we always had a beer and a big hug for each other. I will miss him but I know he is “at home” with our God and Blessed Mother mary and the saints and Angels. I will offer up Mass for him here on the island of Dominica. May love, thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless. Fr. John McLoughlin, C.Ss.R. Dominca, West Indies

Jude was a special friend and key memeber of Toastmasters International.  He helped all of us in the Ephrata Club become better speakers by setting a standard of excellence and through helpful evaluations.  His friendly and helpful personality is missed.  We offer our condolences to the family.  Carl Rentschler, Ephrata Toastmasters

The entire Oniskey family is in our prayers. I knew him since his grade school days at Mt. Carmel in Doylestown. He was a great person with a big heart. Heaven gained a great angle and he made God proud.
