Condolences to the Family

December 18, 2016

It was such an honor to sing alongside “Johnny Eichelberger” up on the choir loft of St. Joseph’s Church so many years ago.   Not only did he have a beautiful voice but he was a good and kind man with a bright smile for all. As my sister Camille shared – when Johnny sang Birthday of a King it could bring tears to your eyes – when those who have touched our lives are no longer here it is the memories we have of them that stay with us forever and that is our comfort.  Thank you Johnny for your kindness, your smile and your beautiful voice  –  when I close my eyes I  can still hear it.  Rest in peace until we meet again.

Dear Pat & Family, Your Husband & Father was very special. We would have some nice conversations with him about our families since our daughter lived on the corner property of the cemetery. He was a beautiful singer! He sang at our  wedding along with Betty McClure! You are in our thoughts & Prayers! God Bless!  With Love, Walt & Frannie Legenstein & Families.

From the Wiegand family, we extend our sincere condolences to Pat and all of her family.  We share in the loss of your beloved John, a good and faithful servant of the Lord.  He will be remembered for his hearty laugh and no one will ever sing “Birthday of a King” quite like him. God bless one and all.

“Johnny Boy” was dearly loved by my mom, Mary Ellen, and she told us of many wonderful childhood memories. When my mom passed away in 2011, although difficult for him to get around, he was there at her funeral service. He was a kind and gentle man and I will remember him with great fondness. May God give you comfort during this difficult time. Cindy Rebman-Haldeman

Pat,
so very sorry for your loss.  I had such fun with John when I went to the cemetery office to do research on my family.  I interviewed him for the Diocese when he retired and we had a lot of laughs.  I have fond memories of those times.  George and I will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers.  George and Joanne Weber

Patsy, and all of the Eichelberger family, I send you my deepest sympathy.  Over the years, John was always a friend to me.  He taugh me to cantor back in the 70’s.  That opened a whole new spiritual journey for me.  I will always be so grateful to him for that.  I thank God and thank John.  You are in in my thoughts and prayers, as is John.
