John H. Harrison, Jr.
March 28, 2013
John Howard Harrison, Jr., of Millersville, formerly of Chesapeake City, MD passed away peacefully on March 28, 2013 in his residence after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Loris (Heiss) Harrison of Millersville, to whom he was married 52 years. He was the son of Frances Eva (Heiber) Harrison of MD and the late John Howard Harrison, Sr.
John was an Army veteran, serving as a military policeman. He attended the University of Delaware, Penn State, and F&M.
His vocation was sales, but his avocation was farming. He received the 1974 Maryland Corn Yield Championship and served on many agricultural and business boards in Cecil and Baltimore Counties.
He, along with his wife, were also real estate agents for a number of years with Hogan, Gateway, and Remax of Lancaster.
John’s ethics of hard work, integrity, and faith were part of his every day routine, along with his ability to tell great stories and a wonderful sense of humor.
For a time in his life he was a shepherd, as sheep were his favorite animals. He lived Psalm 23, “the Lord is my shepherd”, and knew that sheep needed a leader to care for them as Christ had done for him.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Kelly Feil and her husband J.C. of Bozman, MD; Mindy Aument and her husband Keith of Manheim; and Randall Harrison and his wife Jean of Elizabethtown; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Tess Aument.
It was John’s request that no viewing or services be held. Instead, take time to go outside with your family and enjoy God’s creation in the same manner he did.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that in John’s memory you reach out to a military family, elderly person, neighbor or stranger who may need your help and support.

I dearly loved my dear brother. We had a great time when we were in high school, and we even double dated.

Kelly, Mindy, Randy and Aunt Lori,
Thinking of you in your time of sorrow. Uncle jay was always fondly thought of and always quick with a joke to lighten any occasion. I can always remember his fondness for food family and especially his wife as I have never witnessed before or since such a frisky couple. I often wondered why my parents never acted like that. I enjoyed many stories of hunting with him as well all the family antics as our love of hunting was never appreciated by all. Jay will always be remembered by his best led prayer at our family thanksgiving and christmas dinners that went: Grace in the kitchen and grace in the halls for god sake grace don’t eat it all. Save room for me up there uncle Jay we shall all be visiting you soon enough. Too my cousins and J.C. miss you and stay strong your mom says your all doing well. Yours truly, Cameron
Randy and Jean, I will continue to lift you and your family in prayer. How amazing it is to know John is with our Creator for eternity.

Hello Lorrie, We were very sorry to hear of John’s passing. Both Bob and I have thought of you often and wondered if you were still living in the Lancaster area. I can’t believe its been 21 years since we’ve been in touch. Very sorry it is under these circumstances. Lynn Kreider
