Jennifer Lee Mattern, 19

Jennifer Lee Mattern, 19, of Manheim, passed away Sunday at her residence.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of  Redgie L. and Donna Kissinger Mattern of Manheim.

Jennifer had worked for the Donnelly Printing Co. since this past November. She had also worked at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Manheim where she really enjoyed spending time with the residents.

She was a 2005 graduate of Manheim Central High School, attending the career technology center in Mt. Joy studying in the medical career field. She had been a member of the tennis, field hockey and track and field teams at Central.

Jennifer was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of East Petersburg, where she was involved in various church activities.

A good friend, she loved her friends and spending time with them. She also enjoyed photography, music, going to concerts, flowers, and kids. She enjoyed attending the Central football games and sporting events, and the companionship of her dogs, Lucky, Belle and Cody. Family was of great importance to Jennifer, and she enjoyed kayaking with her dad, and going shopping with her mom.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Glenna R. Mattern of East Petersburg; her maternal grandmother Clara Kissinger of East Petersburg and her great aunt Dorothy Myers of East Petersburg. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles: Susan and Dennis Parmer of Ephrata, Herbert Jr and Anne Mattern of Elm, Ernest Drake, Jr of Hardy County, WV, Donald and Carol Kissinger of East Petersburg, Doug and Cindy Kissinger of East Petersburg, and Dennis and Jessica Kissinger of East Petersburg, and by several cousins. She was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, W. Donald Kissinger and a paternal grandfather, Herbert E. Mattern, Sr.

Friends will be received on Wednesday evening from 5:30PM-7PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, with the memorial service to follow at 7PM. Interment will be on Thursday at 11AM in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in East Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Jennifer’s memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
