Jean Renaud de Vitry

Jean Renaud de Vitry died Saturday, May 15th, at Saint Anne’s Retirement Home in Columbia, PA.  Born on October 20, 1925 in Saint Loubes, Gironde, France, Renaud arrived in the United States on December 8th, 1941, settling in Bainbridge, Pennsylvania with his parents and six siblings. He served as a medic in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1946, coming home to marry Elizabeth Anne Hankins in 1947. Together they had eight children: Sheila, Renaud Jr., Christopher, Robert, Alan, Malachi, Pierre, and James, all living. Through a second marriage to Louise Heisey Good, three stepdaughters also survive him: Barbara, Patricia, and Margaret. A master cabinetmaker by trade, Renaud became well known in several states for his excellent craftsmanship and hand-tooled furniture. He had apprenticed in France, making wooden caskets for a local carpenter. To the end of his life, he was happiest when he was in his shop, working with his beloved hardwoods. He was still making meticulous dovetail joints by hand when in his 80’s.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Mennonite Home Chapel 1520 Harrisburg Pike Lancaster, Pa. 17601 at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Richard Onwuanibe as Celebrant. Hello to you all – Judy and I were saddened to learn of your father’s and step-father’s passing. Reading the obit took me back many years to Bainbridge when things were much, much simpler.
Again, Judy and I offer our sincerest condolences to all of you – the ones we have connected with the most over the years have been Meg and Roddy. I am sorry that it is under these sad circumstances that we are "in touch" once again after such a long time.
May GOD HIMSELF provide you with the comfort that only comes from knowing HIM. Please realize that you are in our thoughts and prayers …
Sincerely, as ever, in HIM and HIM alone,
Judy and Fred Holler

To Mic and family, I never had an opportunity to meet your father although I would like to offer my Sympathy.
God Bless to All,
Sandy Bloom

Dear Mrs Vitry and family,
We were very impressed with the marvelous skills that your husband had. It reminds us of so many throughout history that were skilled craftsmen and artisans.  Thair skills were lost when they passed away. One thing that your husband had was a skill like the Son of God- who was also a carpenter.(Mark 6:3)
Just as Jesus died and was resurrected- back to life in (heaven)-so too your husband has an opportunity for a resurrection. The Bible speaks of resurrections- both for heaven and on earth. For example, the Bible talks about 9 actual resurrections. 1 was by Elijah, the prophet. 1 was by Elisha, the prophet. When Elisha died another man was resurrected by his bones.
3 persons were resurrected by Jesus- a 12 year old girl, the son of a widow from Nain, and Jesus’ good friend Lazarus. The apostle Peter resurrected Dorcas, and the apostle Paul brought back to life a boy- mentioned in Acts 20:7-12.
All these 8 were brought to life as humans. When Jesus himself was resurrected-he was made a spirit. So there will be a future resurrection of persons to heavenly life and also right here on earth. Asts 24:15 states"…a resurrection of righteous and unrighteous." This proves it will be of HUMANS because no unrighteousness exists in heaven. When people come back again on earth, their "flesh will be fresher than in youth."(Job 33:25)
One day in the future, your husband will be able to come back to life. His skills will be used once again. (Isaiah 65:21-23).     For more encouragement and information, please visit   www.watchtower.org
Very Sincerely,
With our sympathies,
Mr and Mrs Thomas Wagner
