Dear Uncle Rudy, Cousins Amy, Wayne, Nathan and Christopher,

We’re so sorry for your loss. Aunt Janet fought long and hard to share her life with you and everyone who was fortunate enough to know her and be touched by her.

Aunt Janet had a major impact on me as a teenager. When I got my driver’s license, I wanted a car very badly. My parents were concerned about the impact on my schoolwork and grades; they had a lot of respect for Aunt Janet’s opinion. Aunt Janet told them that a car shouldn’t have any effect on my schoolwork, and my parents let me have the car. Thank you Aunt Janet; I got my car and maintained my schoolwork. You made one happy teenager!

We’re blessed that we knew her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Diane and Tom

I am saddened by your loss and will miss Janet’s way of making even an unusual thing have a funny twist. I know she loved her family to the utmost and I hope you all can remember all the good times. I graduated from Etown High School with Janet.

When we were about 12 and 13, Janet taught me how to sew. At the time, my own family was in a hectic time as we were starting our family business. Janet’s home was such an orderly haven. My family did not have the money for new clothes and Mary Jean taught Janet and she taught me how to sew our own clothes which we did for many years afterwards. I no longer create my own fashion clothes as they are cheaper to buy ready-made but I am so glad for the kindness and perfectionism and creativitity Janet showed to me. No one ever did that for me like she did. Isn’t it funny how the little things in life can be so important to someone who needs them.

My deepest sympathy to you all

I will never forget how wonderful Jan was, she helped me in my life so much. Rudy, you must feel so lost without her. I wish I had gotten back to see her when I stopped in Lancaster after Christmas.

She was one of the most wonderful, caring, and honest people I ever met, and feel privileged to have known her. She loved her daughter and grandchildren and husband so much she glowed, her smile told you who she was.

I will greatly miss her.

Dear Rudy, Amy, Wayne, Nathan and Christopher:

We are saddened to hear of Janet passing away. We know that she suffered health wise for a long time. We always admired her positive attitude and true sense of joy with her life.

She truly adored Nathan and Christopher. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

Janet was also a top notch real estate agent. She did a wonderful job selling our homes and helping us purchase our homes over the years.

It was our pleasure getting to know all of you over the years.

Our deepest sympathy to each of you.

Sincerely,

Sandy, Bob, Larry and Dan Sills
