James R. Dowell, Jr., 29, of Landisville, passed away at home, Sunday, December 10, 2017. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of James R. and Rhonda L. (Henry) Dowell, Sr.
Always a giving person, James enjoyed helping people, especially his family and friends. He attended Hempfield United Methodist Church. He was a well-rounded person, with a great sense of humor, who enjoyed writing, and studying religion and politics. He also loved to play video games, watch Star Wars, and spent time on his computer.
In addition to his parents, James is survived by his sister, Jennifer; grandfather, Luther Henry, of Manheim; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Services for James will be held at 11AM, Friday, December 15, 2017, at Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601. Family and friends will be received at the church from 9 to 11AM, prior to the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James’ name may be made to Mental Health America online at www.mhalancaster.org/give-back/ or to Care Ministry of Hempfield United Methodist Church, at the above address.
